Talking to the new Ecosystem AI Security Engineer

A couple of days ago, the PHP Foundation announced that they had been awarded a grant from the Linux Foundation to invest in PHP's "open source ecosystem security". In short: Volker will spend the next six months full-time on helping the community to report, find, and fix potential security issues; he'll also work across ecosystems to improve tooling for detection and prevention; and he's making an effort to educate and support the community so that his efforts can have a long-lasting impact.

I think this is a really good thing for the PHP open source community, but there's also a lot more to say about it. That's why I sat down with Volker yesterday to discuss his new role in depth. One crucial thing he mentioned is that he's looking for as much input from the PHP community as possible:
